Holiday Shopping In Baraboo Dec. 7, 8, 9

Avoid crowded malls and parking lots by shopping for unique gifts amid the festive and beautiful ambiance of downtown Baraboo during its Very Merry Weekend Dec. 7–9, 2012. The historic square with its restored Victorian storefronts will be decorated for the Christmas season and filled with holiday festivities.

Strolling carolers will serenade shoppers. Enjoy a free horse-drawn wagon ride around the square to select your next stop on Saturday, Dec. 8, and every Saturday from Nov. 24 to Dec. 22, 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Then hot chocolate, tea and treats in many of the stores will warm you as you shop.

Dec. 7–9:  Bekah Kate’s Holiday Open House with 20 percent off storewide, free gift wrapping, homemade cookies from its kitchen, cider and many tasty samples.

Dec. 8:  Cornerstone Gallery’s Very Merry Saturday with tea, cookies and live harp music as you shop one-of-kind art and designer craft primarily by Wisconsin artists.

Dec. 8:  Sauk County Historical Society’s Edwardian Christmas 12:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. The 14-room, Tudor Revival-style Van Orden mansion built in 1902 on Fourth Avenue, four blocks west of downtown, will display a dozen Christmas trees each decorated by area designers, businesses and volunteers using one of the lines from the song These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things, this year’s theme. Dec. 7–8:  Very Merry Holiday Fair, Friday: 12:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m., Saturday:  9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., at the Baraboo Arts Building, 323 Water Street, adjacent Circus World Museum, three blocks from downtown Baraboo. Shop among 45 artisans, authors and food purveyors, plus various drawings and a Very Merry Bar Friday evening. Admission is free both days. Visit
